David Wood: [00:00:00] It’s great to know where you’re heading, but even at that level, we look out 12 months. There’s so much we want to do. All right. I want my website to increase in ranking, by this. I want to test and run Facebook ads. I want to hire a social media person. I want to. It just, there’s so much that we want to do now.

Are we going to get all that done? Yeah, probably not. Are we going to focus just on those goals and not on other shiny objects that come up? Probably not. I find when I talk to clients or prospects about their business, there are usually five different target markets they want to serve. I understand that. I want to do entrepreneurs and executives and leaders of any kind, and I’d like to help couples with relationship.

But if we try and do all that, it’s not going to work. And that’s just the target market. What about five different problems that you want to solve for that market? I want to help entrepreneurs with feeling scattered. With not making enough money. With not having a time off. With their staff issues. But can you see.

We’re already starting to get really scattered. And then you get traffic sources. Oh my goodness. I’m going to do search engine optimization and LinkedIn traffic and Instagram. And what about alliances? Oh, article marketing is really good. So there’s a guy called  Clay Collins,  came up with a wonderful concept called the five ones.

And, he suggests that the fastest way to a million dollars is you pick one thing in each of the areas I’ve already mentioned. And I know we’ve just scratched the surface, but instead of five target markets, you pick one to hang your hat on. And then instead of five problems, pick one to put most of your attention on and to drive home in your messaging over and over again.

If we start to focus like this, what we have at the end of the day is a peaceful business owner. That feels like a superhuman because you nailed so much each day. You’re like, Oh, I’m just going right through it. So that the end of the year, you actually achieve the goals that matter to you.
