CO-HOST CHECKLIST: (you can co-opt people to help, and often I’ll be tidying)
- please use this checklist on the night (if you ask me what’s needed I’m likely to forget something 🙂
- arrive at 5:30pm
- set up space: put out welcome sign front door, tidy, put out chairs, move coffee table, arrange backjacks downstairs, turn heat on downstairs, fill water pitcher and put out glasses
- remind people to practice silence or hushed tones pre-circle (this is the highest priority. There’s a chime to help with this as noise levels climb. ). Can be fun to quietly greet people which can help set the tone.
- at 5:59pm put closed sign on front door and lock door at 6pm and 1 second (it can be super awkward if someone’s close but it holds the container)
- at end tidy, remove drinks/trash, furniture back (two nice wooden chairs and the black chair remain in living room). Move coffee table back to in front of couch. Backjacks can stay downstairs. Turn heat off downstairs. Remove signs from front door. Gently but firmly have people out by the declared end time. (get creative as people are usually very comfy 😉 a heads up 15 minutes prior, then announcement 10 min prior that it’s time to get up and hug people seems to help. Good luck 😉
