Craig Moen: [00:00:00] What blind spots are around me and us today that we should be aware of?
David Wood: [00:00:05] Blind spots. I like that. One thing I’ve noticed is that the human mind is like a monkey on crack. Now if it doesn’t occur like that to you, all you gotta do is sit down, close your eyes and count your breaths up to a hundred.
You will find very quickly that your mind’s off on something else. And you’re like, what number was I up to? And just this morning as I was getting ready for this interview, I thought, wow, there are different ways business owners could get ready for this interview. What my brain is saying, Oh, you can make a cup of tea.
You’ve got time for that. And then why don’t you add a little bit of milk and then you’ll have to heat up the tea and then you need to shave. And then what are you going to be wearing? And you’ve got to set up the green screen, but you’ve got to get ready for the dentist later. I was just noticing.
There are different ways to get ready. You could do it so that you’re very peaceful. You’ve got plenty of time and what’s most important and you choose what not to do. Maybe I’m not going to go and give the dog a treat. Maybe I’m not going to sweep that thing up, that needs that sweeping out.
Maybe I’m just gonna get this done with focus and show up peacefully and powerfully, or there’s a scattered way, right? So similarly with our businesses, most people, most entrepreneurs that I know, are feeling some sense of being scattered and overwhelmed and not crystal clear on what to care about and what to choose not to care about for the time being.
